When did the Gibson Flying V Bass come out?

Gibson made a four string Flying V Bass in 1981.  Gibson produced 375 Flying V Basses.  The Gibson Flying V comes in four different colors.  Most of the Gibson Flying V Basses are black.  A few of the Gibson Flying V Basses are Alpine White, Silverburst, or Transparent Blue.
