Who invented Metallica?

Metallica was formed in 1981 when Lars Ulrich ( drummer ) put an advertisemet in the newspaper.  James Hetfield reponded to the advertiement, togheter James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich formed Metallica.

Lead Guitar - Dave Mustaine

Rythym Guitar - James Hetfield

Bassist - Ron McGovney

Drums - Lars Ulrich

Dave Mustaine Left the Metallica in 1983 and formed Megadeth.  Kirk Hammett replaced Dave Mustaine in 1983.

James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich kicked Ron McGovney out in 1982 to recruit Cliff Burton in 1982.

On September 27, 1986 Cliff Buton was thrown from out a bus window while on a tour in 1986, the bus fell on top of Cliff Burton and he died.

After Cliff Burton's death in 1986 Metallica Jason Newstead tried out for Metallic with 40 other people and won, and joined Metallica in 1986.

On January 17, 2001 Jason Newsted left Metallica to work on a side project Echobrain.

Robert Trujillo joined Metallica on Februrary 24, 2003.
