How did Eddie Van Halen invent the Frankenstrat?

Eddie Van Halen bought the Ash body and Maple neck for $130.  The ash body was $50 and it had a knot in the wood.  The maple neck was $80.  The first bridge Eddie Van Halen used was his bridge from his 58' Fender Stratocaster.  Eddie Van Halen used the pickups he removed from his Gibson ES-335.  Eddie Van Halen got rid of both tone control potentiometers and wired the pickups in a simple circuit because of his knowledge of electrical circuitry.  Eddie Van Halen carved a pickguard to cover the controls on the guitar.  Eddie Van Halen painted his guitar black.  Eddie Van Halen put masking tape on the body and painted the body white.  Eddie Van Halen made a black and yellow Frankenstrat but was dissapointed with the results.  Soon Eddie Van Halen retaped the body of the original Frankenstrat and painted the over with Red Shwinn Paint.
